{"id":28,"date":"2006-07-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2006-07-29T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.jgt.me.uk\/2009\/05\/login-whinges\/"},"modified":"2006-07-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2006-07-29T22:00:00","slug":"login-whinges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jgt.me.uk\/?p=28","title":{"rendered":"Login whinges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been watching the Avatar logons for almost a year since we switched on player self-creation.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve no idea why but it seems people like to create their own character and then decide after 5 seconds that they don\u2019t even want to play!<\/p>\n<p>Its not a real problem to delete them but I\u2019m wondering why they have decided they don\u2019t want to play.<\/p>\n<p>It will be probably one of the below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They cannot see what they type because local echo is not on.<\/li>\n<li>They have not bothered to read the web site which has a nice <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avatar.co.uk\/faqs.htm\">FAQ<\/a> about getting started.<\/li>\n<li>They wish to reserve \u2018their\u2019 name.<\/li>\n<li>By creating an account, they bypass all the help in limbo and so have no idea what to do!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To be honest, I\u2019m not sure what I can do about this short of forcing them to the info centre in limbo or letting them create an account only after they have been logged on for over 10 mins or something like that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been watching the Avatar logons for almost a year since we switched on player self-creation.
